The annual tournament of the Losi & Lososi Fishing Club kicks off in Namibia

30/01/2026

This year's annual fishing tournament of the Losi & Lososi Club is a special anniversary edition — it's being held for the tenth time.

Over the years, this community of passionate anglers and hunters has transformed into a true expedition team, traveling year after year to different corners of the world to test themselves in new conditions and fishing formats.

In 2026, club members will gather in Namibia and focus on targeting the copper shark.

This predator, the sole representative of the genus Carcharhinus capable of reaching this size, can grow up to three meters in length and weigh as much as 250 kg, turning every bite into a true test of endurance.

Fishing is done from the shore, in the surf zone, using specialized bottom rigs. Anglers wade into the water, make long casts with powerful rods up to 4.5 meters in length — and then the battle begins. The fight with a large fish can last for hours, demanding not only physical strength but also complete control over the situation.

Catching such a fish is no easy task — but we're going to give it a try.

Special attention is paid to the rules of the tournament: only single hooks are used, and all caught fish are subject to mandatory release. This makes the Losi & Lososi Club tournament not only thrilling but also responsible towards the ocean.
