Unforgettable Fishing Adventures in the Outer Islands
An interesting team of guests embarked on our next expedition. Out of the four participants, only one had experience fishing in the Outer Islands, while the other three were taking such a catamaran trip for the first time.
A special program was created for them. Firstly, we decided to explore the unique fishing spots discovered during the previous expedition in more detail. Secondly, the program included several educational courses.
After the first days of introductory fishing, we began the training. The guests were shown techniques for tying various fishing knots, properly assembling tackle, and rigging baits.
We specifically recommend using single hooks and barbless treble hooks. This not only reduces injury to the fish but also increases safety for anglers and the crew, while simplifying hook removal. Reliable single hooks provide excellent hook sets and securely hold the fish. Try BKK Diablo, and you’ll quickly see their effectiveness.
The weather this season has been unpredictable. On the second day in the Outer Islands, we were caught in a cyclone with rain and wind. However, we didn’t give up: thanks to Boombastic's mobility, we managed to change locations and avoid the bad weather. This decision turned out to be the right one.
The captain of Boombastic found unique spots where, at depths of up to 20 meters, GT, Red Bass, numerous large Jobfish, and Sailfish were biting. Every cast was filled with excitement, and the fishing delivered unforgettable emotions.
On this trip, we also introduced our guests to the Slow Pitch Jigging technique, which allows comfortable fishing at depths of up to 250 meters. In the spots we discovered, thousands of Ruby Snappers and colorful groupers were found. The excitement of all anglers simultaneously holding bent rods with hefty catches is hard to describe!
The beginners set numerous personal records, catching several Sailfish, large Dogtooth Tuna, and GT.
On the way back, we made a short stop at the Mahe Plateau, where we had excellent jigging. Here, we managed to catch a massive Dogtooth Tuna and another Sailfish.
We are now on Mahe, preparing for the New Year celebrations. However, the Boombastic team is always available and ready to organize a New Year fishing tour or a luxurious barbecue for you.
