Fishing Adventures Beyond the Horizon
After our first expedition, we made changes to the route to ensure our guests visited completely untouched locations!
To be honest, we were just as excited to explore the new route in detail and revisit places we hadn’t seen in years.
Our group consisted of only three anglers, which allowed our team to provide the highest level of comfort on the catamaran and aboard Boombastic.
It’s hard to put into words the feeling of embarking on a long journey to uncharted waters with our guests, but we were confident it would be an incredible experience!
Our guests are passionate about reef popping and jigging, so we focused primarily on fishing near reefs and drop-offs with depth changes from 10 to 50 meters.
On remote islands, much depends on the weather, particularly the wind. The first few days were quite windy, limiting access to some promising spots. Gradually, the weather improved, and we were able to visit the most interesting sections of the reef. As the weather cleared, fish activity increased as well.
One day, we found a spot we nicknamed Jurassic Park. In that single location, our lures were attacked by GTs, doggies, sailfish, and later joined by wahoo and mahi mahi. The number of jobfish and red snappers was off the charts. The fish kept biting like crazy, impressing us with their size and power.
The fishing week flew by in an instant. On our way back, we stopped about 45 miles from Mahé for a couple of hours to target amberjacks and other predators. After landing a few deep-sea trophies, we had a surprise visit from a sailfish, which we carefully released back into the ocean.
A huge thank you to the catamaran crew and, of course, the Boombastic team—you are true professionals in every sense!
